Khalid Khawaja

As the Vice President for Academic Affairs at RIT Dubai, Dr. Khawaja believes in the creation of a quality education environment through the recognition of educationís core pillars and values. He identifies with RIT values that recognize the student as the center for all efforts pivoted on strong foundation of scholarship and professionalism, ethics and integrity, diversity, innovation, and collaboration. He has an academic career that focuses on establishing systematic quality assurance standards that are learning outcomes centric leading to sustainable improvement in the quality of university academic programs utilizing the latest technology whenever feasible. Before joining RIT-Dubai, Dr. Khawaja was the Associate Dean of the School of Engineering at the American University in Dubai. His effort there focused on creating a premier education environment recognizing various human dimensions and utilizing state-of-the-art assessment processes that use Java technologies to assess learning outcomes accomplishment at various levels. This is then used to drive improvement efforts. He also provides architecture and systems consultancy to several corporations. Dr. Khawaja has over 17 years of experience in Java technologies and is the owner of the LinksSaver and TrafficAbacus Android applications and is the architect of His experience also includes his time as VP of Product Development at Digilore, solutions architect and project manager at InfiniteTiers Advanced Software Technologies, Senior Integration Engineer at EDS-PLM Integration Services, Senior Software Engineer for SDRC (currently Siemens PLM Software), and an Adjunct Assistant Professor at the University of Cincinnati in the Information Technology Department. Dr. Khawaja delivered many projects to fortune 500 companies. He also delivered over 50 professional training courses.

Dr. Khawaja holds a B.S., M.S. and Ph.D. from Purdue University in Computer and Electrical Engineering. His consulting and research activity is in the area of software development and enterprise systems architecture and technologies.
