AUD Signs Scholarship Agreement with ICT Fund


On 11th June 2012, The American University in Dubai (AUD) signed a scholarship agreement with the Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) Fund - a Telecommunications Regulatory Authority (TRA) initiative. The agreement, which covers a full scholarship to 30 UAE National Students who seek to pursue their degree at AUD in the ICT fields, was signed by HE Dr. Abdulqader Al Khayat, Chairman of the Board of Trustees at ICT Fund, Dr. Eesa Bastaki, CEO of ICT Fund and Member of the Advisory Board of the School of Engineering at AUD, Dr. Lance De Masi, President of AUD and Dr. Adnan El Nasan, Chair and Associate Professor, Electrical and Computer Engineering at AUD.

 

The ICT Fund strives to promote a culture of entrepreneurship in the UAE ICT sector and to improve linkage between industry and academia. Additionally, it promotes the involvement of UAE nationals in the realm of scientific and technology research in order to foster self-reliance of technology creation and development in the country.

ICT FUNDS SCHOLARSHIP AT AUD

Scholarship for Computer Engineering and Electrical Engineering
Admissions Requirements and Eligibility Criteria
  1. The scholarship is only open to UAE Nationals. In order to be eligible for the Scholarship, new students must apply to the Computer Engineering and Electrical Engineering Programs at AUD
  2. Candidates must have a minimum of 85% average in the secondary certificate or equivalent
  3. Candidates must fulfill AUD's Admissions requirements. Click here to view.
  4. For transfer students, a minimum CGPA of 3.00 is required

Other criteria
  • Candidates must have maximum age of 24 years
  • No prior dismissal from any higher education institution for any reason
  • Candidate must pass required medical tests
  • No prior conviction of a crime of honor or honesty, or any criminal act

The Student must sign an agreement and must adhere to the following conditions
  1. The Student will regularly attend classes, and maintain the minimum CGPA required by AUD and TRA for satisfactory progress and graduation from AUD
  2. The Student will join, upon graduation, a specialized position in the field of information and communication technology in the UAE

  2. Fill the ICT Funds Application Form and submit it to AUD Admissions Office
  3. Visit an AUD Admissions Coordinator to complete the process
