Can you Imagine?

The 2011 regional finals for Microsoft's Imagine Cup were held at the American University in Dubai. Now in its ninth year, Imagine Cup 2011 called upon students across UAE to rise to the challenge and "imagine a world where technology helps solve the toughest problems facing us today." The event gave Computer Science students a unique opportunity to interact with participants as well as organizers. "Our Computer Science program prides itself in partnering with giants like Microsoft in events like the Imagine Cup, which makes an attempt at answering the question: what's next?" said Dr. Khalid Khawaja, Chair of Computer Science and Associate Dean of Engineering. As the world's premier student technology competition, the Imagine Cup is Microsoft's initiative to encourage young people to apply their imagination and creativity to technology innovations that can make a difference and address real-world issues. Students aged 16 and over were eligible to register for the event.
