Encrypting Information

With the proliferation of computing devices and the need to communicate across different platforms, demand for expertise in information system security has risen. AUD's new Computer Science curriculum offers a number of courses in information confidentiality, data encryption, and network availability and security. The new Network Security track includes courses on data security and cryptography, both of which are of paramount importance to businesses and industries at the global level.

Among the topics discussed throughout the curriculum are the security threats related to computer systems and networks and how to defend them. Through hands-on exposure to state-of-the-art hardware and software, students learn how to ensure proper access control, conduct accurate vulnerability assessments, and perform security audits and policies. A special course on cryptography examines the different kinds of cryptosystems used in modern day computing.
