As one of the departments of the School of Engineering, American University in Dubai (AUD), we strive to provide state-of-the-art education and optimum learning experience for our students. Over the past few years, our department has come to be known for graduating outstanding engineers who, to this day, continue to excel in their chosen fields of work. Our graduates, alongside many engineers and professionals, provide the energy needed to fuel industries and operations all over the nation as well as the world. Some of our graduates joined post-graduate programs in prestigious and high-ranked academic institutions globally to help them rise even higher in their chosen industries.
 

The Mechanical Engineering Department offers an innovative advanced program of study that constantly evolves to meet the needs of mechanical engineers in the 21st century. The program is accredited by the Engineering Accreditation Commission of ABET, as well as the Commission on Academic Accreditation of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research in the UAE.
 

Our curriculum covers a combination of general education subjects such as; math and science fundamentals, and mechanical engineering core courses. A sequence of well-designed electives exposes our senior students to a wide variety of areas such as computer aided design, mechatronics systems, robotics, aerodynamics, computational fluid dynamics, internal combustion engines, and HVAC (Heating, ventilation, and air conditioning) systems.
